Twinlock Sleeve
Polymount International BV has a unique product called the Twinlock Sleeve. Twinlock has won the Flexographic Technical Award. Mounting printing plates on a Twinlock Sleeve is different in many ways compared to the current mounting technique. With fast changing times, clean mounting and demounting, the long lasting adhesion and the permanent compressibility, perfect print results on lines solids and screen, higher press speeds and many other advantages, we offer you the best sleeve available.
The Twinlock Sleeve is self adhesive and compressible. Self adhesive because of the permanent tacky polymeric surface. Compressible because of a high quality polyurethane forma which is combined with the Twinlock material. This P.U. foam has the characteristic to maintain optimal compressibility during and after heavy usage. Normal cushion mounting tapes will lose compressibility throughout the print cycle, resulting in more dot gain and squashed images.
The Twinlock Sleeve does not suffer from compression wear-out. The Twinlock Sleeve is available in different types of surface hardness. The medium density is the most used compressibility. It the most suitable for the majority of printing works. Ninety-five percent of today`s flexo can be printed with that shore hardness.
For very critical vignettes, Twinlock Sleeve also offers a softer PU foam which absorbs vibrations even better. This Twinlock Sleeve has a relatively hard surface, combined with a soft P.U. compressible foam. The Twinlock surface itself is based on a shrink free layer, stabilizing the P.U. foam. This combination results in less dot gain and an improved solid.
Twinlock can be applied to new sleeves as well as old sleeves. In order to coat existing sleeves, the sleeves can be modified to suit the thickness of Twinlock. Twinlock offers the opportunity to switch over to thinner plate technology. By adjusting the outside diameter of the sleeve with Twinlock, 1.14mm and 1.7mm plates can be used instead of 2.54mm and 2.84mm plates.
